Matchmove Department · N Gram Studios

We track the camera,
so your CG lands exactly right.

N Gram's studio is a dedicated Matchmove department — camera tracking, object & body tracking, and on-set data capture. Nothing else, which is exactly why it's precise. Our team carries 10+ years of Matchmove-specific experience into every shot.

Why Matchmove, and only Matchmove

Every other VFX department depends on this one being right first.

Matchmove is the part of the pipeline most audiences never notice — and that's the point. It's the discipline that works out exactly where a real camera was, frame by frame, so that CG elements, set extensions, and creatures sit in a shot as if they were filmed there. Get it wrong, and everything downstream — lighting, compositing, animation — has to fight against a foundation that doesn't line up.

We chose to stay specialists in exactly this. N Gram's studio doesn't run a generalist VFX pipeline — we are the Matchmove department, full stop, working as an extension of your existing team or production.

What We Track

One department. Four disciplines, all Matchmove.

We don't take on compositing, animation, or grading — every project that comes to us is scoped to camera and object tracking, end to end.

Camera Tracking

Frame-by-frame 3D camera solves from your live-action footage, so CG elements share the exact perspective, scale, and movement of the original plate.

Object & Body Tracking

Tracking actors, vehicles, and props through a shot so CG characters and effects move and interact convincingly with what was actually filmed.

Set Survey & On-Set Data

Measurements, lens data, and tracking-marker placement captured directly on set, so the solve downstream has clean, accurate reference to work from.

Scene Reconstruction

Rebuilding a shot's 3D layout — camera, geometry, and motion together — so layout, animation, and compositing teams inherit a solve they can trust.

How We Work

We plug into your pipeline — we don't replace it.

Most studios that come to us already have compositing, animation, and CG teams in place. We sit upstream of them, handing off clean tracking data they can build on.

    You send the plate

Share your live-action footage along with any available lens, camera, and set information.

  2. 02

    We track and solve

Camera and object tracking is carried out frame by frame until the solve is clean and verified.

  3. 03

    You get pipeline-ready data

Camera and object motion files are delivered in the format your animation, layout, or compositing team already works in.
